Umbraco Commerce is an eCommerce platform - similar to Shopify or Adobe Commerce.

That familiar feel

Aside from looking and feeling a lot like other eCommerce platforms you've seen, it's built on tech that Umbraco users will be familiar with - ASP.NET, C#, and Microsoft SQL Server.

Where it differs from Shopify is that Umbraco Commerce is a separate, paid platform that integrates with your existing Umbraco CMS.

It doesn't come free with Umbraco out of the box, but you might find its pricing structure well suited to your business.

Built with cutting edge tech

Umbraco Commerce's frontend is built with some of the latest tech, such as

Reports. It has them.

If you've ever used Shopify, Magento, or any big name eCommerce platform you'll feel right at home with its built-in analytics.

You won't find anything too exciting. But all the reports you'd expect are there, there's a sufficient level of detail to answer most questions, and the interface is beautifully intuitive.

With a bit of configuration, and integrating third-party analytics tools with ease, you have most of the reporting you'll need as standard with the rest easy to set up.

The Analytics home has the headlines you need. Individual reports can be drilled down into, though some could be richer. Courtesy of Umbraco

Pricing

Where Umbraco Commerce differs from Shopify and many other platforms is that it doesn't charge a per-transaction fee.

There's a flat fee per license - currently €2,388 or around $2,600 a year (price correct at time of writing, 24 May 2024), but that doesn't mean transactions are free.

You'll still need to choose and integrate a payments gateway - and they usually charge per transaction. But if you're doing lots of smaller transactions it could work out very cost-effectively.

Integrations

Umbraco Commerce has some fantastic integrations with a lot of the most popular shipping providers and payment gateways. This makes a lot of the admin of running an online store or SaaS business very smooth indeed - and gives your customers a sleek modern shopping experience, almost right out the box.
